Ambuscade 2019

 

The fourth annual AMBUSCADE! was held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Guardian Games.  some pictures of the event are below...

FINAL GAME SCHEDULE:

SESSION 1 (12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
  • Larger table (6'x7.5'): Battle of Abensberg, April 1809 (Bavarians vs. Austrians). 28mm Napoleonics. 6 players, beginners welcomes. Black Powder rules. (James S)
  • Larger table (6'x7.5'): Romans vs. Barbarians. 15mm.  4-8 players.  Mortem et Gloriam rules. (Dannie M.)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): THEM! "The earliest atomic tests in New Mexico cause common ants to mutate into giant man-eating monsters that threaten civilization - can you defeat them before they multiply further?" 28mm pulp. Minimum 4 players, max 8 players. Rules: Survival Horror. (Neil M.)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): "In an obscure eastern European city, evil lurks! Can the combined services hold off the minions of hell?" 28mm pulp/Victorian sci-fi. 4 players (lots of bad guys, you may bring your own 250 point band if you like to add to the fun). In Her Majesty's Name rules. (Hugh S.)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): Goblin Slayer - Save the Farm!  Can you and Goblin Slayer, based on the manga and anime of the same name, protect the farm? Groups of intrepid heroes will try and stop the goblin horde from destroying the farm and eventually the entire town.  Take command of either a group of heroes or a horde of goblins and do your best to be hero or get some lunch.  28mm fantasy.  4-8 players.  Open Combat rules.  (Vincent S.)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): Battle of Brietenfield - For 10 years the armies of the Holy Roman Empire have fought to return the Inquisition to North Germany. Now victory is in sight. Father Tilly and his invincible pike & shotte blocks, his "wolves", face off against Gustavus Adolphus. "The Lion of the North" and his Swedish army plan to rely on firepower and mobility to assure freedom of thought endures in Europe.  15mm Thirty Year War.  Up to 6 players.  Lion of the North (Shako variant) rules.  (Kevin B.)
SESSION 2 (4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) [note: may start later than 4:00 p.m. if prior games run late]
  • Larger table (6'x7.5'): Napoleonic Advance Guard vs. Rear Guard. 28mm. 6 players, any skill level. Rules: Blownaparts Battalions. (Preston)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): "It’s the Louisiana state navy!" American Civil War naval scenario. 1/600 scale ships. 2-4 players. Hammerin' Iron rules. (Henry T.)
  • regular table (6'x5'): "Viva Napoli!" Battle of Seminara 1495 (Spanish/Neapolitans vs. French renaissance warfare). 28mm. 6 players. Rules: Lion Rampant! (Spencer F)
  • Regular table (6'x5'): The Thunderdome was just a warm-up act for... CIRCUS MAXIHUMONGOUS! Deep in the heart of the Wasteland, will the hounds catch thier prey? Or is a forty-ton war-rig more of a "rabbit" than they can handle?  Either way,  you won't be gravely disappointed!  Post-apocalyptic car game.  4-6 players.  Rules: Gaslands.  (Nathan S.)
